Children s Medicine.

As a two year old girl, was given Nurofen locum a children's medicine by her General Practitioner. Macey then contracted 'Stevens Johnson Syndrome' as it kills around 40% of those who get it ?
This small girl was left fighting for her life after suffering a severe allergic reaction to Nurofen, as her parents showed. As Macey Marsh was prescribed a child's dose of the drug after her parents Matt and Sarah Took her to the GP. But within hours of being given the medicine, the two-year-old was rushed to hospital after agonizing blisters Appeared on her face and mucus glued her eyes shut. Macey Marsh, pictured left before the incident, Suffered a horrific allergic reaction to a dose of Nurofen for Children. Doctors then warned her parents she was unlikely to survive after her Entire Body began to blister. This is Macey after the allergic reaction set in. To her parents' relief, Macey pulled through after nine days, but may still have permanent damage to her sight. Macey's father said. 'There were times when we were unsure if our little girl would pull through at all, let alone with her eyesight intact.' Doctors diagnosed a rare reaction to medication, not a suspected virus and then told these terrified parents. Saying to them that she would need a miracle to survive. 
But after 10 days in intensive care Macey pulled through and the family are now waiting to learn if she has any permanent damage to her eyesight. Mr Marsh, 37, a photographer, said. 'It was terrifying and an emotional roller coaster. 'There were times When We Were unsure if our little girl would pull through at all, let alone with her eyesight intact. Said she could lose her sight after suffering horrific allergic reaction. This left her with sores and blisters all over her face and neck. As Macey Marsh was prescribed a child's dose of the drug 2014. But Within hours, her skin was covered in blisters and eyes began to fill of mucus. Doctors diagnosed it as rare allergic reaction - with either medication or a virus to blame. Doctors diagnosed this condition as Stevens Johnson Syndrome as it kills around 40% of those who get it. Macey spent nine days fighting for her life but eventually pulled through. Her family are still waiting to learn if she will suffer permanent sight damage 
'Seeing your daughter's face covered in blisters and weeping eyes glued shut with mucus is absolutely devastating. I would not wish it on any parent.
Macey's ordeal begun when her parents took her to the family GP in Chertsey, Surrey, with a rash and puffy eyes. The local doctor reassured them that she was simply 'run-down' and said she would be fine after taking a children s painkiller Nurofen alternated with Calpol. But When Mrs Marsh, 37, checked on her daughter the following morning, she was horrified to find Macey's eyes were glued shut with mucus. She then rushed her to the nearby St Peter's Hospital, where doctors then diagnosed Macey with scarlet fever and sent her away with penicillin. Her parents Sarah and Matt (pictured before the incident) Had taken her to the local GP surgery when she appeared unwell. There, her local GP prescribed Nurofen for children. Her parents Sarah and Matt (pictured before the incident) Mrs Marsh persisted in bringing her back to the hospital once again as Macey had only taken Nurofen for children, as this product was prescribed to Macey. After nine days of fighting for her life in Hospital, Macey couldn't opened her eyes. A spokesperson for Nurofen said the toddler had suffered a reaction and this was extremely rare.
